Mondi Kaso Iraq Packaging and Customized Paper products

Mondi’s industrial bags plant in Sulaimaniyah, northern Iraq is the first industrial bags plant in Iraq, and will serve the growing cement industry which is rebuilding the country.

Together with the local partner, KASO Group, this Greenfield project is set to strengthen Mondi’s industrial bags business in the expanding Middle East and North Africa region (MENA).

The plant started operations in 2013 and is set to support industrial bags customers in their expansions in emerging markets most notably Iraq, one of the booming countries in the Middle East.

The plant is specialized in valve bags for the cement and building materials industries.

The production capacity to be over 100 million bags in the first production year aiming to fulfill the local market need then to export to regional market over next coming years.

The Production capacity reached 200 Million paper bags in 2017
